Mentioned as one of the more original comics on the Swedish standup cirquit, Tomas Ahlbeck stand for an absurd, intelligent and awake humour that has recieved a lot of praise from audiences as well as fellow comedians. His style is mentioned in Swedish media as ‘Dark, twisted, absurd and without mercy’, and International standup comic Jason Rouse mentions him as ‘The Dirty Uncle you always wanted’.
His show ‘The Dirty Uncle Comedy Roadshow’ – performed in Brighton and Edinburgh 2013 – was followed up in 2014 with the successful solo show Swedish Oddballs at Edinburgh Fringe. The show was mentioned in British media as ” Among the best International comedians at the Edinburgh Fringe 2014.” It was later followed up with “Så Mycket bitter” in Sverige and “It’s a wretched life” in Great Britain.
Tomas has also in many years run the Madcap Comedy Standup clubs with Jasmine Ahlbeck. The idea has been to provide a good scene with paying audience for up and coming comedians, and the clubs have had the form of a touring roadshow in cities like Kalmar, Eskilstuna, Alingsås, Stockholm and Eskilstuna.
